HOLD ON AND LISTEN TO OUR LAST WEEK--
This photo is Gretchie pouring herself a cup of water--she is quite self sufficient she thinks---ha!
Of course I am always asked what in the world do you do when you don't work??? Hello--I have a two year old and love every minute of it (ok--not all minutes but you understand..........) ALSO--LAZY DAYS OF SUMMER IS NOT TRUE AT OUR HOUSE---We are on the move-------------------------
**Sunday evening--Funland (no pic)
**Monday morning I took "G" to VBS from 9 am to noon---She did pretty good considering it was 3 hours--For craft we made monke
y name tags!!
For snack we had rice and a pizza snack--she did TRY IT! At 11:30 am during the last song she laid down on the floor and just had had it----I thought oh no here is a big fit-NOPE I scooped her up and we left-whew---never know the mind of a 2 year old! Just plain tuckered out--teheee!
Oh yeah and the theme of VBS was CHINA--sooo Sunday morning the dragon float (from the 4th
parade) was in the corner of the foyer---she was scared to death to even go in the front doors of the church! So when we pulled up to church on Monday the front was decorated wth colored posters of monkeys---(she sometimes freaks out with monkeys and hides and says she is scared--MY PERSONAL OPINION--play it off and she is fine---Last summer a monkey jumped at the
plexiglass at the zoo and she cried!!--so I think its a hidden fear----then what did we do buy her pink monkey sheets not even knowing---it took forever to put them on -she now loves them) So with the monkey posters outside on the church and then the Chineese dragon inside---it was a rough start (BUT no TEARS) (Just very CLINGY)Talked about VBS all day--so I took her back Tuesday--Monday afternoon we took the paper binoculars she got at the zoo and looked for ANTS
outside and then made a ant hill with brown construction paper and ink pad and then raisins----HOW FUN!!!
**Tuesday--VBS--walked in by herself past the
posters and dragon----ahh! Looks at me and says THE DRAGON IS NOT SCAREY---IT'S OK MOMMY!
Craft--made paper lanterns!! Snack was graham crackers and frosting and "RED STICK" (licorice)!! Tuesday after nap we had planned to go to Mrs. Fun's house but change of plans and I took G to the Gretchie park instead! It
was so hot that she crawled under my legs --I was sitting on the steps and she curled up under my legs and said lets go----funny girl!

**Wed--Baby Boogie--she loves this class! Storytime/Craft --made a bumblee bee sack puppet. Checked out Horton movie and more books--- asleep on the way home again. After nap---Mrs Fun's house with Zaq (7) Quinn (4) Cooper (2) from 3-5pm and of course it was hot hot hot and 100 degrees!! They have a huge blow up water slide they shared with her this afternoon---(I GOT NO PIC) But she just played in the botto
m and would not go up-----she had fun !!! In fact when it was time to go and they deflated it she said I am still playing!! We were invited back ----
This is the same child who stood on the towel and refused to put her swimsuit on and was dripping with sweat for the first 30 min we were there! She then asked to go potty and I took her suit in to the bathroom and she put it on (SMILED AND SAID LET'S GO HAVE FUN!!! (gee)(could she be modest so young--which is good)
**Thursday--we went grocery shopping since I had nothing left--we were there quite awhile and talked to four different people we knew!! She fell asleep in the car and then my friend Shanna and Seth (5) and Jenna (19 months)came at two from Walla Walla!! They stayed for dinner and left at 7:30 pm! What a fun day catching up--Mary stopped by for a couple hours also. Shanna taught with me at McNary the four years I was there--and stayed with us one weekend a month when she got her Master's degree! Gretchie had a fun fun time playing with her new friends----she played in the dirt outside and went to bed.
**FRIDAY--VBS!! She made a Chineese scroll and had raisins and a fortunate cookie. She read and read her fortunate--stuck the paper in her pocket! We had hotdogs at noon and then they had carnival games for the kids--she loved her tied purple balloon animal. We left church at 1:30 pm and she kept herself awake the whole way home by singing---we then watched DORA and rocked and she still stayed awake-after an hour I decided to go claim my $100 first place we had won back in April off our electric bill and get our rodeo box seat tickets and buffet dinner tickets!!! G was so tired and would not get in the carseat in the driveway----laid down on the floor and said I don't want to go----after punishment I buckled her in----I did not want to get her out at the UEC office but had too--She had her blankie, elephant, tied balloon, and new rubber tiger from VBS! The clerk thought she was so cute--I still was exausted from trying to give her a nap and putting her in the car. The lady hande
d G a Ty beanie animal--and it happened to be an elephant (THAT IS NUMBER 10 stuffed elephant) The girl needs NO MORE ELEPHANTS!!! Gretchen's reaction was adorable OH THANK-YOU SO MUCH --ELEPHANTS ARE MY FAVORITE!! I AM HAVING AN ELEPHANT BIRTHDAY!!! (I had to hug her on that--no prompting on my part just plain cute!!!) It made my day --plus the clerk was talking to the other lady when we left!! SUNSHINE EVEN IN THE MIDST OF NO NAP!!! She fell asleep at 4 when we went to get Papa Murphey's Pizza-I woke her 15 min later when we got home.Played with older neighbor kids and bed!
